A Small Way to Give Back
My father is a safety matches exporter. After years in a business that relied on cutting trees, lockdown gave him time to pursue his love for growing plants—perhaps his own way of giving back to nature.
The Plants Had Other Plans
He began with a few plants on our balcony and a lot of hope. But every plant he touched seemed to die. Was it the soil? Was it the watering? Was it the sunlight? Like so many first-time plant parents, he had questions—but no clear answers.
A Feeling Shared by Many
As we spoke with more indoor and balcony gardeners, we realised many felt overwhelmed by too much advice and complicated products.Gardening started to feel difficult, and people began blaming themselves—believing they simply weren’t “good at growing plants.”

We knew gardening shouldn’t feel this difficult. So we focused on everyday plant problems—yellow leaves, pests, watering, repotting and poor soil—and created simple solutions to make plant care easier and less intimidating.
